About Heartland Equine Appraisal LLC
Heartland Equine Appraisal LLC was founded to give horse, donkey, and equid owners — along with insurers, attorneys, and buyers — a number they can trust, grounded in the animal's actual conformation, soundness, training, and performance record, not a rough guess or a seller's asking price.
Appraisals are prepared using USPAP-informed methodology and current market data across a wide range of disciplines and equids, from ranch and rodeo horses to hunters, jumpers, western performance horses, racing stock, and working donkeys and mules. Every report is written to hold up under the scrutiny of an insurance adjuster, opposing counsel, or a skeptical buyer.
Meet the appraiser
Felicia Kimmel
Felicia Kimmel is the certified appraiser behind every valuation at Heartland Equine Appraisal LLC. She holds an Associate's degree in Equine Science and a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, and is certified with the American Society of Equine Appraisers.
Her judging background includes competing on the horse judging teams at Black Hawk College and West Texas A&M University, where she won the AQHA Congress Collegiate Horse Judging Contest as high individual — the same trained eye for conformation and movement that carries directly into appraisal work. While at Black Hawk College, she also competed on the IHSA show team.
Felicia's equine career has centered on American Quarter Horses across English and Western disciplines, with hands-on experience working for trainers in the cutting horse world as well as in private show barns.
